Application:
H11 is an excellent choice for a wide range of hot work and cold work applications. It has excellent nondeforming properties,and is used for hot shell punches,mandrels,and applications where resistance to splitting or cracking is desirable.
Machinability:
H11 has a machinability rating of 80 co***red to a 1% carbon tool steel which is rated at 100.
Annealing:
Heat slowly to 1550¡ãF for one hour per inch of thickness. Cool 75¡ãper hour to 1000¡ãF and air cool. For surface protection an atmosphere furnace or stainless foil wrap must be used. The annealed hardness of H11 should be 217 Brinell maximum.
